Good-bye 2016/2017 school year

Another school year is coming to a close at end of June. It has been a very successful year as every one is pitching in and working for the common goal of preparing the students for more enriched experiences in the world according to their abilities.
A few notes:
Kathy Martarano is retiring at the end of June! The Program, the students, and FINS owe so much to this remarkable lady and friend of the students! Without her encouragement and expertise, Independence Network would have been shut down several years ago. She will be helping the new Director transition into the position and will help us solidify our relationship to the new Director.
The washing machine died a few weeks ago, and thanks to the support of the Independence Network families and friends, FINS was able to buy a new washer for the classrooms.
Summer school will be aimed at providing more fun and unique events for the students. The weeks of July 14th and August 16th will be filled with various activities (magic shows, carnival, movies, and dancing as well as a day at Happy Hollow Park including picnic.)
On July 7th, there will be an end-of-year celebration at the multi-purpose room starting at 10:45. Come and celebrate with the students.
Again FINS would like to thank Barbara Stealey and the teachers and aides who are the backbone of the program. We couldn’t imagine a better team to help fulfill the goals of our students.
